#RoarBackWithHeadStart Campaign Toolkit

For Agency Directors and Leaders

Until June 15, we have the incredible opportunity to ensure that Head Start programs have the resources and support to remain high-quality and serve the children and families who need them the most — especially as Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is expanded across the state.

To be successful, we need to activate a large and diverse coalition of Head Start agency leaders, staff, parents, families, and others who support our most vulnerable communities.

We are going to need your leadership and help to reach a critical mass.

To help make this easy, we created this toolkit to provide you with sample content, social media, and other tools you can use to reach your staff, parents, families, and partner organizations.

This toolkit includes:

  • Contact State Lawmakers with One Click
  • Sample Newsletter Content
  • Sample Social Content
  • Helpful Resources
  • Sample Graphics and Images
  • Quick Tips

Please note: Head Start staff should do this activity outside of work hours. They should engage in this activity while on break or when not at work and on their personal devices.

Roar Back with Head Start

Until June 15, we have the incredible opportunity to ensure that Head Start programs have the resources and support we need to remain high-quality and serve the children and families who rely on us — especially as Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is expanded across the state.

We need to activate a large and diverse coalition of Head Start agency leaders, staff, parents, families, and others who support our most vulnerable communities.

We are asking the California Legislature and Governor Newsom for a $50 million appropriation in the 2021-22 budget for grants for Early Head Start, Head Start, Migrant and Seasonal Head Start, and American Indian Head Start.

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the critical role of quality early childhood education to ensure we have strong communities and workforce.

We need your help to ensure all California lawmakers support state funding for Head Start programs, especially as Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is expanded. Let’s make this a reality!
