Call for Proposals

2025–2026 Head Start California Events 

 

We’re excited to invite dynamic presenters, experienced professionals, and passionate advocates to submit proposals for our upcoming events! Whether you’re a longtime leader in the field or bringing fresh ideas from the front lines, we welcome your voice. 

Help shape the future of Head Start by submitting a proposal for one or more of our signature conferences.

We are now accepting proposals for the following events. Proposals are due by Friday, September 5, 2025 by 11:59 pm (PST). 

 

Health Institute

November 3-5, 2025 | San Jose, CA 

About the Conference: 
The Health Institute brings together Head Start health, nutrition, mental health, and family services staff for three days of focused, practical training. From emerging safety protocols to community partnerships that boost wellness, this event equips professionals who support the whole child. 

Who Should Submit: 
Presenters with expertise in public health, maternal and infant care, mental wellness, safety and compliance, nutrition, or community health systems. 

Audience Includes: 

  • Health managers and specialists 
  • Nutrition staff 
  • Mental health consultants 
  • Family and community engagement staff 

 

 

 

Annual Conference

February 9-13, 2026 | Ontario, CA 

About the Conference: 
Our largest event of the year, the Annual Conference brings together educators, family advocates, and Head Start parents for inspiring keynotes and breakout sessions that spark new ideas and deepen impact. 

Who Should Submit: 
Speakers who can engage, energize, and equip educators and parents with practical tools and fresh perspectives. 

Audience Includes: 

  • Head Start and Early Head Start teachers 
  • Home visitors and education leaders 
  • Family service staff 
  • Policy Council members and parents 

 

 

 

Managers & Directors Institute (MDI)

April 13-14, 2026 | Location TBD 

About the Conference: 
MDI is a leadership-focused event for early childhood program leaders. It blends peer networking, policy updates, and workshops to support strategic decision-making, team management, and effective operations. 

Who Should Submit: 
Experienced leaders and consultants with expertise in leadership, finance, operations, human resources, compliance, and systems building. 

Audience Includes: 

  • Program directors and managers 
  • Site supervisors 
  • Executive and senior leadership 
  • Fiscal and HR administrators 

 

 

Submission Deadline

All proposals are due by Friday, September 5, 2025 by 11:59 pm (PST). 
Notifications will be sent following the review process.
