Final Rule

The Office of Head Start on Friday, August 16, 2024, issued the Final Rules pursuant to the 2023 NPRM. The official release date is Wednesday, August 21, 2024 – which starts the time period for implementing final rules.

The Office of Head Start on Monday, November 20, 2023 issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that marks the most significant updates to the Head Start Program Performance Standards in nearly a decade. The NPRM encompasses 112 changes, including 67 new rules.
