We’re excited to announce that Tiffany Rosso has joined Head Start California as our new Development Manager. Tiffany, now our sixth team member, will be focusing on driving development efforts in grant opportunities, strategic fundraising, donor campaigns, and expanding partnership programs.
This new role was envisioned in HSC’s 2022 strategic plan. Our Executive Director, Melanee Cottrill, emphasizes how important this timing is: “With more funding to support our advocacy and policy work, we can boost Head Start’s presence at both the state and federal levels. By expanding our partnerships and grants, we can launch new programs to solidify recognition of Head Start as the gold standard in child development.”
Tiffany comes to us with a wealth of experience in philanthropy, nonprofit management, and development. She holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies from San Jose State University. Previously, as Director of Philanthropy at International Bird Rescue, Tiffany led a successful fundraising effort, expanding major donor and individual giving programs. She also developed communication and fundraising strategies for over 200 nonprofit members at Impact Foundry and served as Executive Director for Alchemist Community Development Corporation, where she oversaw strategic planning, community engagement, and fund development.
Tiffany spent much of her early career working as an educator in many different capacities. She has experience in both classroom and outdoor environments, curriculum development and program design for students ages preschool to adult.
“I’m thrilled to build new partnerships and connect Head Start program leaders with companies that want to support our community,” says Tiffany. “Together, we can provide programs with services that make operations smoother, helping them serve more families and advance Head Start’s mission.”
When she’s not working, Tiffany loves spending time with her family, riding her green cruiser bike with friends, paddle boarding on the lake, and exploring new places. You may have met Tiffany at the Managers and Directors Institute last month, but if not, feel free to reach out and say hello to her at tiffany@headstartca.org.
