Christopher works with the board to plan for the association’s future and provides direction and oversight for day-to-day operations. He builds relationships with existing and new corporate partners and serves as the primary liaison with other state, regional and national associations, as well as other policy and research groups that impact Head Start. Christopher plays guitar, dabbles in photography, and toils away at that unfinished novel.

Joe manages the association’s finances, including preparing reports for the board and its finance and audit committees, as well as overseeing grant and contract budget management. He is responsible for banking, insurance and employee benefits. He oversees much of our office operations and assists the executive director with human resource issues. Joe enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hiker and cyclist.

Karen creates, manages and directs the workflow of marketing, messaging, and membership communications through a variety of channels including the website, emails and social media, print media and webinars. Karen enjoys roasting marshmallows over campfire, watching war movies, and driving the California coast.

Threasa leads and directs logistical and programmatic planning for all of Head Start California’s online and in-person events and learning programs. Threasa enjoys visiting amusement parks with her family, kayaking and getting lost in a good book.

Elizabeth plays a key role in Head Start California’s advocacy work by coordinating the association’s involvement in coalition partner efforts, supporting grant- and contract-based projects, collecting and organizing data, and supporting social media efforts. Elizabeth studies International Relations at UC Davis. She spends her free time traveling, water skiing and working on race cars. The highlight of her life was meeting a baby sloth in Costa Rica.
