Lorcan works closely with the Board of Directors and staff to ensure that Head Start California continues to provide outstanding leadership, support its members and carry out the association’s mission. He brings 31 years’ experience in education and also owns and leads Lester Consulting Group, a Sacramento-based consulting firm that works exclusively with nonprofit organizations. He enjoys exploring new restaurants with his wife, traveling, and spending time with his three adult sons.

Joe manages the association’s finances, including preparing reports for the board and its finance and audit committees, as well as overseeing grant and contract budget management. He is responsible for banking, insurance and employee benefits. He oversees much of our office operations and assists the executive director with human resource issues. Joe enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hiker and cyclist.

Karen creates, manages and directs the workflow of marketing, messaging, and membership communications through a variety of channels including the website, emails and social media, print media and webinars. Karen enjoys baking cookies, beach vacations, and watching war movies.

Threasa leads and directs logistical and programmatic planning for all of Head Start California’s online and in-person events and learning programs. Threasa enjoys visiting amusement parks with her family, kayaking and getting lost in a good book.
