HSC Virtual Event Code of Conduct Agreement
Head Start California (HSC) is dedicated to providing a positive and harassment-free event experience for everyone, regardless of age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, personal appearance, body size, ethnicity, race, religion, nationality, or level of experience. We do not tolerate harassment of event participants in any form, nor do we tolerate any behavior that would reasonably lead to another event participant being made to feel unsafe, insecure, or frightened for their physical or emotional well-being. All communication should be appropriate for a professional audience including people of many different backgrounds.
Examples of encouraged behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
- Be kind to others
- Using welcoming and inclusive language
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences
- Gracefully accepting constructive criticism
- Focusing on what is best for everyone at the event
- Showing empathy towards other participants
Unacceptable behavior includes, but not limited to:
- Insults or put-downs of any kind
- The use of sexualized language or imagery, sexual attention, or advances, or sexist jokes of any kind
- Trolling, insulting or derogatory comments, personal or political attacks, or sustained disruption of conference activity
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, or harassing speakers or attendees
- Harassment of any kind, even in a joking or ironic manner
Racist or exclusionary jokes of any kind
This list is not exhaustive. Head Start California reserves the right to excuse any participant who behaves in any way which could be reasonably considered as inappropriate in a professional setting.
Recordings and Reproduction
By attending an HSC Virtual event, you agree:
- To grant HSC permission to capture your voice, image and/or comments and to rebroadcast or repurpose them to promote the Health Conference or other HSC conferences.
- NOT to reproduce any material, presentations or handouts provided.
- NOT record any portion of the virtual conference without written permission by HSC.
Consequences: Breaches of this Code of Conduct may result in disqualification from participating in this and/or future live and virtual events.
