We’re Joining Forces with NHSA in San Diego

We’re thrilled to announce that the National Head Start Association will be holding its Parent and Family Engagement Conference in California: on December 16-19, 2024 in San Diego. Rather than hold our Parent and Family Engagement Conference in February, just two months later, we are partnering with NHSA for their conference and encourage our Head Start community to join us! 

In addition, Head Start California will be providing a unique pre-conference program that we hope all our California attendees will participate in. As we finalize the details of our pre-conference program, we ask that you allocate funds in your professional development budget to include our pre-conference events once registration opens in late summer. Please be on the lookout for updates. HSC’s pre-conference events will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. 

About the Conference 

NHSA’s annual Parent and Family Engagement Conference is the only national event that focuses on how Head Start parents, families, and staff can best partner to promote both family engagement and children’s development. We will explore a wide range of new resources and thinking on the forefront topics of early childhood development and how Head Start programs can address the needs of children, families, and staff. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to delve into a variety of new resources and innovative ideas on important topics in early childhood development. Partnering with families is a vital component of the Head Start program. You will discover new methods to engage with families, learn how to build strong relationships, and develop open lines of communication. Programs and families working together promote children’s success both at home and school. 

We hope you will plan to invite parents, family and staff to join us in San Diego on Dec. 16-19, 2024.
