When does the Call for Presenters open for the Head Start California 2020 Annual Conference?

The Call for Presenters will open on July 30, 2019.

What is the deadline to complete a submission?

The Call for Presenters will close on Sept. 6, 2019.

When will I know if my proposal is accepted?

The Annual Conference Committee will review all submissions and will notify you of the decision by September 30, 2019. If you have not received an email notification by mid-October 2019, please check your spam filters and then contact Christine Feenstra at christine@headstartca.org to verify the status of your proposal.

What topic should I submit for consideration for the Head Start California 2020 Annual Conference?

Head Start California is looking for a wide array of topics that are innovative, engaging, inspiring, and informative for the Head Start community. Head Start California’s goal is to offer relevant, timely education and training to help attendees do their jobs more effectively and make their agencies more successful. Proposals should address contemporary or emerging issues confronting the Head Start and Early Head Start profession.

Are there any restrictions in submitting a proposal?

Selling or promoting products is not allowed in workshops and your presentation may not focus on the selling of a product. If you wish to promote or exhibit at this conference, please contact Christine Feenstra at christine@headstartca.org.

What does the event app listing include?

  • Please note: Head Start California reserves the right to edit presentation titles, description and learning outcomes as necessary.

Are my expenses covered?

Head Start California does not pay an honorarium or reimburse travel or subsistence expenses. Travel and hotel information can be found on our website. Please check back regularly for updates.

What are the speaker and co-speaker registration fees?

The registration fee for each lead presenter is complimentary and our conference registration policy permits up to two co-presenters to register at a reduced registration rate of $200 member/ $250 non-member each.

What is the room assignment and set-up policy?

Room assignments are made at the discretion of the conference planner. We are usually unable to accommodate special room setup requests but will consider them. We do make every effort to accommodate schedule change requests, but preferred times cannot be guaranteed.
